We offer competitive compensation and benefits and are searching for innovative discovery driven people to join our team.Barrick is recruiting a Senior Exploration Geologist to join our North America Exploration team.RoleThe Senior Exploration Geologist will contribute to Barrick's exploration activities in the USA helping to develop a portfolio of gold and copper projects with potential to meet Barrick's geologic and economic filters. The role will be responsible for planning and executing exploration activities in the USA with an objective of discovery or recognition of copper and gold deposits that will add material value while working in full alignment with Barrick's values.Principal duties and responsibilitiesThe Senior Exploration Geologist must demonstrate proficiency in the following:Maintain a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and the public Develop, coordinate, and manage exploration programs in the USA within budget Motivate programs and effective reporting of exploration activities and implications of results Assist in the development of exploration models for various gold and copper deposit model types and target/project generation activitiesProactively monitor 3 rd party properties; initiate reviews as warrantedForward planning to ensure efficient and timely coordination of resources required for preparation and conduct of exploration activities Preparation of annual programs and budgets Ensure programs are consistent with Barrick's strategic needs and goals. Other Responsibilities include:Maintain a professional work environment and encourage technical excellence from teamEnsure the effective collection and interpretation of exploration data, including QAQC protocolsEnsure that company resources are effectively utilized Implement approved programs, bringing targets to decision points in a cost effective and timely mannerSpecific functional duties include:Extensive travel requiredSolid understanding of geology, mineral camps, and prospective geologic terrain for discovery of USA gold and copper depositsCoordinate peer reviews of exploration programsCoordinate the timely and accurate compilation of exploration results and review project progress for weekly reportingContribution to the preparation and presentation of quarterly reviewsPreparation of material as required for inclusion in company presentationsParticipate in annual budget project reviews QualificationsThe successful applicant will fulfill the following education and skill level pre-requisites:Demonstrated commitment to safety, community and environment.Bachelor of Science or Masters of Sciences from a recognized institution.8-15 years of applicable experience and expertise in exploration for a variety of gold and copper deposit model types with an emphasis on epithermal and sediment-hosted gold systems and porphyry copper deposits in variety of geologic environmentsSelf-motivated and discovery drivenContinued professional development and technical trainingDemonstrated competence in ArcGIS and 3D modeling softwareGeological/geochemical/geophysical interpretive and integration skillsFirm understanding and recognition of mineralization models and geological processesDemonstrated ability to work within a high performing teamCandidates who are interested in joining our dynamic team should submit a resume to Barrick complete with your qualifications.Barrick Gold Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we value workplace diversity.
