The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge of mine engineering, operations research models, and strong computer science skills. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.Responsibilities:Strong focus on developing advanced planning and disruption management solutions aimed at continually improving mine performance and operational efficienciesAbility to synthesize complex problems and create solutions that add value to a myriad of business needs. Must have a "can do\" mindset to find solutions. Responsible for Life of Mine (LOM) planning Undertake mine design optimization and economic assessment worksIdentify technical projects and support or manage consultants to deliver solutionsInterface with the operations team to ensure appropriate long-range planning support and experienced conditions are considered in LOM planningResponsible person delivery of LOM plansInterface with and manage consultants assisting in engineering and planningDevelop and update the financial model for the LOM budgetLead trade-off studies and develop scenarios for review of potential options relating to LOM planningSet up and managed the schedule for the delivery of key outputs in the LOM planning processInterface with other technical professionals (Geotech, Geology, Hydrogeology, Metallurgy) to ensure LOM plans are technically sound and optimizations are identifiedCompile documentation and presentations of work in progress and completed.Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering (or similar engineering field)requiredAdvanced degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable quantitative fieldpreferredStrong background in modeling, optimization, and algorithmspreferredExperience with Deswik, Minemax, Vulcan, or other mine planning software packages isstrongly preferredExperience in designing, developing, and implementing optimization toolspreferred3+ years of experience in using commercial optimization solvers such as CPLEXExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and verbal and written communication skillsrequiredStrong interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skillsrequiredAbility to work well collaboratively and independentlyrequiredEmbraces diverse people, thinking, and stylesrequiredWhat We Can Offer YouA comprehensive compensation package including bonuses benefits, and stock purchase plans where applicableAbility to make a difference and lasting impactWork with an agile, collaborative, and high-performing teamAccess to a variety of career opportunities across Nevada Gold Mine locationsNevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer#LI-JB1
