SUMMARY Oakwood School is seeking an outstanding full-time elementary physical education teacher for our lower school, K-5th grades. This position is for the ******** school year beginning in August 2024.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Plan, supervise, and implement curriculum as a physical education teacher. Work in partnership and collaborate with other teachers, educators, parents, and specialists to develop curriculum, plan trips, and coordinate special projects as related to the position. Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports, report cards, newsletters, and other school approved channels. Embody Oakwood School's mission and values. Support and follow school policies and procedures. Attend various staff meetings, Back-to-School Nights, Open Houses, and other events as directed. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS Required Passion to work with elementary children and their families. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Warm demeanor with high expectations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required A bachelor's degree in your specific or related field; Teaching credential preferred A minimum of 2-years of previous teaching experience at the elementary level or equivalent professional experience relevant to working with elementary school students Content and pedagogical expertise PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Ability to lift items up to 30 pounds and to sit and stand for 4-8 hours per day. COMPENSATION This position has an expected salary range of $55,000 - $84,800.
