In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk's innovative oral products. Position Purpose
Improve systems & equipment reliability on assigned process, reduce system/equipment downtime on assigned process, & support operation of assigned process.
Accountabilities
Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) in performance of assigned duties
Support the development & establishment of maintenance procedures, maintenance plans & spare parts lists for processes assigned
Perform corrective & preventative maintenance on assigned process in a timely manner
Interpret mechanical & electrical specifications, drawings & other technical data sheets
Ensure all maintenance activities are correctly documented in SAP
Partner with process owners to actively improve performance & reliability of process equipment
Contribute to growth & development of the maintenance team by training fellow technicians in areas of expertise as well as learning new systems
Use Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools to establish root cause analysis & resolve equipment issues
Suggest practical changes or improvements to equipment & department work practices
Collaborate with responsible engineers & manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment problems
Other accountabilities, as assigned
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree in relevant field or equivalent military/industry experience, which includes a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical & control systems, or an equivalent combination of education & industry experience
Minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience
Demonstrates a systematic approach to problem solving & troubleshooting
Supports & actively participates in event response activities for the process
Documents problems & works to bring them rapidly to solution
Desired Qualifications
Knowledgeable in Process Areas listed above
Experience with automated records systems such as SAP/CMMS
Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams & other technical documents. Computer literacy
Ability to use necessary meters, signal generators, hart/trex devices, & other electronic diagnostic tools
Experience in planning/organizing work, managing execution, checking results & revising the work plan in accordance with the daily work plan
Physical & Other Requirements
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. with assistance
Ability to work in confined spaces & near operating equipment
Occasionally works around odorous &/ hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves
Ability to work hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
Must be able to be on feet for up to 12 hours or longer, day or night
Corrected vision to 20/30
Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
