Full job description Electronic Technician
Join a small team of high tech folks that designs and manufactures high-reliability embedded computer boards for critical defense and medical customers.
The Electronic Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, testing, and repairing products which are returned from VersaLogic customers, or have fallen out of VersaLogic's production line. This position also support building, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of production test jigs.

Job Duties include:
· Perform debug testing on products using various instrumentation, drivers, operating systems and software
· Replace (soldering and unsoldering) SMT and through-hole components
· Replace (soldering and unsoldering) BGA components
· Perform mechanical assembly/disassembly as required to perform testing/ rework/ repair
· Perform operating system installation processes as needed for test purposes
· Perform schematic capture tasks (using Altium) as needed for trouble shooting and reporting
· Create and maintain Gold Boards (product reference models)
· Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on various test jigs
· Perform Functional Test validation/verification as requested by Test Engineering
· Assist with Functional Test procedure creation and modification
Education and Experience
Required:
· Associates Degree in Electronics Business Administration or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· IPC 610 certification
· 1-2 years of experience in technical environment, debugging, testing, and repairing high density circuit boards
· Ability to work with multiple departments including manufacturing, engineering, and test departments
· Ability to solder
· Debugging skills
· Basic understanding of BOM and revision structures
· Mechanical assembly experience
· Good understanding of x86 architecture
· Knowledgeable in the use of oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and other electronic equipment
· Good understanding of signal measurement techniques
· Good understanding of Operating systems and testing
· Familiarity with BGA's removal & replacement
· Familiarity with QFN & similar component removal/replacement
· Familiarity with thermal testing & environmental chambers
