Position:           Journeyman Electrician
Reports to:       Plant Director
Pay Range:       $30 – $40/hour DOE
General Description: This individual, under little or no supervision, is responsible for the efficiency and safety of all plant electrical circuits. Perform electrical construction and maintenance projects on a timely basis. Must possess a valid State of Washington Limited Journey Manufacturing Plant Electrician license or higher.
Manual: Must be physically able to perform all related jobs in the work area, including heavy lifting and working from high platforms.
Position Pre-Requisites: Have the ability to complete forms and necessary paperwork accurately and legibly.Ability to effectively interact with plant personal in a professional and customer service-oriented manner.Ability to obtain a Rader Farms forklift license (through an in-house training class).Ability to use a computer and to apply your knowledge of basic computer skills.Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision (highly self-motivated).Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.Ability to work flexible hours.Have the ability to problem solve, read, write, and comprehend in English, and interact with co-workers to resolve problems.Have the ability to organize and set priorities.Job Responsibilities: Perform or direct all maintenance wiring, installation of motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting, testing, and power circuits.Determine proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, panels, fuses, etc. to meet applicable code requirements.Must be able to read and understand blueprints and circuit diagrams.Inspect and troubleshoot motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, heating, power circuits, and VFD's. Make preventative repairs and corrections as needed.Perform installation, connection, adjustment and calibration of electrical gauges and recording instruments.May be asked on occasion to make repairs on ignition and electrical systems of automotive equipment.Program, maintain and repair programmable logic controllers.May be required to supervise apprentice electricians of different experience levels.Make up material and parts lists and assist in electric shop organization and parts inventories.Must have and maintain personal tool inventory.Must be able to work any shift, additional shift hours and weekends, as needed.Work cooperatively with shift supervisors and fellow employees.Practice good housekeeping at all times.Report all safety hazards to supervisor or manager.Must obey all safety, health, sanitation, and plant rules and procedures.Perform other duties as directed.Helps to build and promote a strong "teamwork" environment in individual work, group work, and within the Company.Physical Requirements: Strength – lift 70 lbs. Maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 55lbs.Stand/walk/sit – stand, walk and or sit a maximum of 3 hours prior to each break period.Climb/balance – ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and the like using feet and legs and or hands and arms. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.Stoop – bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.Kneel – bend the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees.Crouch – bend the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.Crawl – move about on the hands and knees or hands and feet.Reach – extend both hands and arms in any direction.Handle – seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with the hand or hands.See – obtain impressions through the eyes of the shape, size, distance, motion, color, or other characteristics of objects.Twist/turn – able to turn/twist trunk of body from side to side.Talk – expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word.Occasionally requires individual to be in awkward positions. Applying LOTO procedures when working around equipment including conveyors, automatic caser and bagging machine to keep hands and/or body clear of moving parts when removing jams, adjusting and doing maintenance on machinery. Proper body mechanics need to be practiced whether lifting, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, etc.
