Electrician

Job Summary: The Electrician will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, systems and machinery in buildings.
Duties/Responsibilities: Diagnose electrical problems using diagrams or blueprints. Install and repair electrical systems. Inspect, troubleshoot, and conduct tests. Pinpoint problems using a range of testing devices. Safely use various hand and power tools. Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Comply with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code. Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, machinery and fixtures in buildings. Install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables. Ensure piping complies with electrical codes. Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them. Connect electrical systems to powerlines to provide electricity to the building. Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation. Inspect electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed. Replace conduit and wiring as needed. Replace circuit breakers as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to read blueprints. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions and schematics. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid electrician's license required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. ???????
