Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain electrical service and equipment to the university. Preventing loss of power and damage through proper maintenance of electrical equipment and maintaining safe electrical service within the university. Thorough knowledge and practice of safe working practices.
Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements: Two years experience in electrical trade which can be acquired through general electrical contractors. Vocational training may be exchanged for a portion of experience at the rate of one-half times per year. Must possess alertness to details of job. Must possess memory for principles of electricity. Performs general maintenance functions as assigned Basic electricity through vocational school, apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training. Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the requirements to operate a university vehicle. Hourly Rate: $12.75 (Additional pay dependent upon qualifications)
Minimum Salary: $12.75
Work Hours: Eight hours per day, five days per week. Occasional overtime. Emergency callback after hours and on weekends, Exposure to high voltage, confined spaces, and high elevations. This position will be required to work to provide critical services during University holidays, closures, and other emergencies as needed. Critical services refer to the units that ensure the continuation of key operations and services that directly relate to the security, safety, and/or physical operation of the University (including services to students). Critical services employees will be required to report to work unless their supervisor advises otherwise. Work Location: Murray, KY
