We arecontinuously developing new answers for rail automation – often to questionsthat haven't been asked yet.Position Overview:Siemens Mobility Rail Division has an immediate opening foran expert inElectrical Production Engineer Designerat theirLexington,N.C.Facility. The training will take place at our Sacramento, Californiafacility for a duration of 6 to 9 months. The candidate will have the abilityto support the design and production of our Locomotives, Coach Cars and LightRail trains. We are looking for professionals with the aim to work in the highpaced rail industry to build new and innovative designs for our futurevehicles.In this role, you will assist the Engineering Departmentpersonnel to ensure accurate execution of the design, compliance with industrystandards and customer specifications. Requires the ability to supportproduction, revise design, improve and build sophisticated circuits. There willbe routine testing performed to prove the concept and functionality of thecircuits, and designs. Must be detail oriented and take ownership of projects.Must be able to work independently on projects to solve technical issues withminimal direction. Candidate will also sometime need to perform IndustrialEngineering role to help the subassembly processes.What you will be doing:Implement (individually or as a member of an engineering team) customized production orders under minimum supervision, applying industry standards and best engineering practices.Provide redline support to production, edit, and revise submittals with Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP) such as SAP®. This includes the design of new components, modification of ELCAD (electrical CAD) circuits and Bill Of Material (BOM)'s, and incorporation of field or customer-based changes.Prepare and release schematics using Elcad including connector BOM'sThe ability to perform component selection using components catalogs such as circuit breakers, cables, terminals, off the-shelves components with their associated characteristics.Required Skills:ELCAD 7.7.0 or higher or equivalent with 1 year of experience (completed coursework can be considered as experience). Will consider other Electrical CAD programs but the applicant will need to show examples of relatable experience and willingness and ability to learn ELCAD.
