Summary of Duties: Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments as necessary. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals. Familiar with a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under the supervision of a senior or lead electrical engineer. A modest degree of creativity is required.
Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor's Degree form an accredited four (4) year college or university in Electrical Engineering
Experience: One to three (1-3) years of applicable experience in a related field.
Abilities, Knowledge and Skills: NSS currently maintains two "tracks" for electrical engineers, including the microwave track and the digital circuit track. These tracks are characterized as follows:
· Microwave track: Strong computer analysis skills, Microwave design tools (Genesis, Microwave Office, ADS, etc.), Microwave/RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.), and various PC skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
· Digital circuit track: Strong computer analysis skills, Digital design tools (OrCAD, PADS, Eagle), Digital/electronic test equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.), and various PC skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
