Our client is a global leader in the speciality materials sector who operates within the aerospace defence and automotive industries. They are looking to strengthen their engineering team with an electrical & control instrument engineer, two of the core duties include:
Support the maintenance effort across the site to improve plant performance and reliability.
Lead continuous improvement projects within the department.
To be considered you should hold a relevant degree in electrical engineering or closely related discipline and possess previous experience as an EC&I Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide Electrical & Controls Engineering skills and knowledge to the Project Engineering team.
Support project, process and maintenance activities that will lead to improved safety and production efficiencies.
Lead continuous improvement projects from concept to successful implementation.
Liaise with relevant staff members to ensure successful implementation and sustainability of improvements.
Develop concepts into detailed control specifications on a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
Creating, and maintaining electrical, instrumentation and controls documentation.
Supporting site breakdowns as required to return the plant to production on time.
The requirement to join the technical support call-out rota.
Remain available to support the site, to ensure safety and minimise downtime.
Skills & Requirements:
Experience including design and specification of industrial chemical processes or similar.
Rockwell PLC knowledge required (Logix 5000 & 500, plus RS view)
Understanding of Safety PLC systems and SIL.
Practical application of problem solving and fault finding i.e.,4-20mA loops, Eurotherm controllers, process critical equipment
Experience with industry-standard risk assessment techniques such as HAZOP, and FMEA. Trained in machine safety.
ATEX & commissioning experience would be advantageous. 2D CAD knowledge is advantageous. (AutoCAD, EPlan etc.)
