Job Title: ELA/English Teacher
Reports to: School Director Main Purpose: Corvian Community School develops the whole child and seeks to address the cognitive, emotional, social and physical needs of each student. The Corvian Way guides all members of the Corvian Community. Core Accountabilities: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ELA/English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ELA/english, a commitment to student success, and the ability to engage and inspire young learners. As a ELA/English Teacher at our charter school, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students' understanding of english concepts, fostering problem-solving skills, and preparing them for academic success. Key Outputs/Results: Design and implement engaging and rigorous ELA/english curriculum aligned with standards and school objectives. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of students. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and integrate ELA/english concepts across the curriculum. Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to support student success and well-being. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in English instruction. Contribute to the school community by participating in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities. Essential Knowledge: Deep understanding of ELA/english concepts. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or related field. Valid teaching certification/license in North Carolina preferred. Previous teaching experience, preferably in a charter school or diverse educational setting. Commitment to continuous improvement and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
