SMV Recruiting is actively seeking a skilled Environmental Health & Safety Site Lead to work in Concord, NC. Our client is a large manufacturer and is looking for someone who can have a strong focus on the environmental piece of EHS in a 600sqft facility with 200 employees. This role will focus on wastewater, hazardous materials, recycling and all of the governmental reporting that parallels these issues. Our client has a long track record of having employees with very long track records and pride themselves on a place where people can have long term careers. Responsibilities: Assist in the development, management, and maintenance of company's environmental management system Monitor environmental laws and policies including hazardous materials transportation regulations Design and determine a waste management program Identify recycling opportunities Implement and maintain the company's policies for divisions and departments to remain compliant with state, local and federal regulations Present and develop the emergency management training sessions and several environmental training programs Collect the required government environmental sampling such as soil and water and report the requirements as required Communicate effectively and efficiently with all federal, state and local authorities Help develop work areas and procedures in facilities for environmental standards, including discovering waste reduction and recycling opportunities for the company Conduct audits for the organization and define action plans based on gap analysis to ensure compliance Ensure that all environmental incidents are handled properly and continue to prevent any possible environmental incidents Requirements: Bachelor's degree in in EHS or related field Master's preferred 5-10+ years working in an EHS role for a manufacturing company Experience working with fed/local/state agencies and handle environmental reporting OHSA certificate Certified Safety Professional Certified Hazardous Materials Manager Certification
