The incumbent will provide guidance, training, and support, while influencing engagement and contributions from EHS colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external resources to drive continuous improvement initiatives.Your responsibilities will include:Providing EHS site support for internal customers including manufacturing, process development, and research and development laboratories Identifying opportunities to minimize risks and prevent workplace injuries; work with cross-functional teams to drive projects and support continuous improvement initiativesAdministrating ISO45001 Health & Safety Management System including internal/external audit facilitation and risk management; identify opportunities for improvement, implement recommendations and mange related documentationLeading incident investigations, root cause analysis and after-action reviews; collaborate with process owners to develop and implement corrective actions and engineering controls as neededPartnering with regulatory agencies to conduct site inspections; provide regulatory guidance and safety recommendations for processes, equipment, and facility infrastructure designConducting risk assessments on processes, equipment, and chemicals, identify compliance concerns, program non-conformities and opportunities for improvement Conducting EHS audits, self-assessments, and inspections to ensure workplace conditions comply with internal policies, program requirements and applicable local, state, and national regulationsBuilding and maintaining relationships with contracted safety services and consultants Leading and supporting EHS-related committees, task forces, and cross-functional teams; serve on the site's emergency response team(s)Facilitating regulatory compliance activities; coordinate work efforts and recordkeeping related to chemical exposure monitoring (industrial hygiene), confined spaces, electrical safety, emergency action planning, equipment safety (machine guarding), fire prevention, chemical hygiene / lab safety, laser safety, contractor safety, respiratory protection, and safe facility design Required qualifications:Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, safety engineering, safety management, occupational health, or related disciplineMinimum 2 years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environmentMinimum 4 years of experience with safety-related programs, policies, procedures and regulationsPreferred qualifications:Experience working in pharmaceutical, medical device, electronics, or similarly regulated industryExperience with ergonomic risk reduction, emergency response and incident command in a manufacturing, laboratory, or office settingCertified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and/or Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams Requisition ID:577524Among other requirements, Boston Scientific maintains specific prohibited substance testing requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
