Responsibilities
• Provide direct instruction/support to students identified in IEP• Plan and direct programs, projects, and activities related to special education• Lead and participate in IEP meetings to review student's progress• Demonstrate teaching strategies and utilize effective materials• Utilize assessment results for developing IEP goals• Plan and deliver rigorous and differentiated lessons• Provide effective classroom management and student efficacy• Use data to inform student support• Coordinate assessment results with service providers and Director of Special Education and Wellness• Provide technical expertise to teachers and staff for serving students with IEPs
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university• Valid California Education Specialist Credential with English Learner Authorization• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to special education• Knowledge of instructional programs, methods, and practices for differentiated and accelerated learning• Knowledge of leadership development practices and effective supervision• Ability to motivate, inspire, and engage students• Ability to use and analyze data to accelerate student achievement• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing• Ability to work effectively across diverse communities• Effective time-management skills
