Summary The Educational Coordinator is responsible for orientation and training of new and current Associates, coordinates the Quality Assurance program in Respiratory Care, maintains inventory and supplies, develops and maintains policies and procedures, and coordinates discharge planning regarding respiratory care components. Serves as liason between nursing, physicians, residents etc. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. Education/Experience/Licensure Education/Formal Training Work Experience Credential/Licensure REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree in a Respiratory Therapy, Allied Health or Related Field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience performing respiratory care in a hospital setting.
Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the state of employment Current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or has grandfathered credential prior to July 1, 2002 from the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current BLS Certification. PREFERRED: Master's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, Education, Allied Health or related field.

Key Job Responsibilities Plans, organizes, implements educational programs, workshops, skill reviews, and competency evaluations for current, new and student Respiratory Care Associates. Arranges professional exchange of information with other departments to promote continuity of care, i.e. nursing, medical education and other health care providers. Evaluates and monitors the progress and performance of new Associates, Clinical Preceptors and students. Provides constructive feedback on progress reports and evaluations. Oversees the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of Respiratory Care Policies, Procedures and Protocols. Evaluates and selects Respiratory Care equipment and supplies as needed. Performs other job functions as assigned or requested. Physical Requirements The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently. The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
