Join our team Today! The Early Learning Resource Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and consultation to Centers and School-Age programs. This position supports recruitment, retention, and outreach In Marion, Polk & Yamhill counties and will be an advocate for equitable, quality child care and connect programs with developmentally appropriate practices and resources.
Candidates must submit applications by 05/17/24 in order to be considered for first-round interviews. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education/Education or related field (Human Development, Child & Family Studies, Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology), OR a Step 10 on the Oregon Registry with coursework in age three to five development or an ability to obtain within 1 year .
Two or more years of experience in a center-based early learning and/or school-age
Two years of experience providing technical assistance and/or training to early learning or school-age programs .
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for preschool and school-age children
Experience with identifying early learning/school-age program needs
Ability to locate resources to meet program needs.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from program directors, educators, and community partners.
Ability to develop and effectively present training to adults.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required.
Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
Successful registration with the Criminal History Registry of the Child Care Division.
Possess or ability to obtain master trainer status in Oregon Registry Online.
Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screens.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Provides outreach and technical assistance to new Center and School-Age Programs.
Recruits child care professionals in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill Counties into CCR&R focused Communities of Practice.
Provides one-on-one relationship-based support and technical assistance to directors.
Identifies early childhood and school-age resources available to assist educators in Marion, Polk, & Yamhill counties.
Connects educators to services that will enable them to begin or grow center and school-age businesses .
Supports directors with child care program assessments and screening supports. .
Utilizes various forms of technology to support early childhood educators. May use video conferencing, phone , and/or email to share resources.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES There are no supervisory duties in this position.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.
Frequent driving in all weather conditions to centers and school-age programs in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties.
Requires problem-solving, planning, and resourcefulness while facing regular deadline pressures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor, office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
Working with coworkers/clients over the phone, using video conferencing tools and in person .
Occasional noise and distractions in workspaces .
Occasional remote work as approved by supervisor.
Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
