Woodmont Baptist Weekday Preschool ("WBWP") seeks an energetic, nurturing, and positive person to be a classroom teacher in our preschool. WBWP serves children from four months through 5 years of age and partners with families to provide developmentally appropriate preschool education in a respectful, creative, nurturing Christian environment. Our teachers are responsible for fostering a warm and accepting atmosphere while valuing and promoting play. Duties Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards Carry out activities on a daily basis, evaluate the effectiveness of child development activities. Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional health Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and parent-teacher conferences Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met Contribute to the effective operation of the overall childcare center program Foster self-worth in children by treating them with dignity and respect. Maintain confidentiality of information relating to children, families and staff Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement Requirements Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or CDA required Minimum 2 years of experience in classroom High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children and parents) and to foster a team environment A strong understanding of child development Flexible, able to adapt to diverse situations that may arise. Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification Must pass background check and annual health screening. Benefits
This is a 32 hour per week teaching position. The standard workday is 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and the start date would be August 12,2024 Salary is commensurate with education and experience. We offer 8 days paid off for holidays, PDO time depending on days worked at WBWP, bonuses, and paid conference fee one per year.
