You start your shift by receiving a comprehensive report from the registered nurse on duty. You meticulously check vital signs, assessing any changes in health status that may need immediate attention. You offer a comforting presence to residents, listening to their concerns and providing emotional support. You assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and mobility exercises, fostering a sense of dignity and independence among those you care for.
You collaborate closely with the registered nurse, learning the intricacies of care planning, documentation, and the coordination of healthcare services. You may administer wound dressings, injections, or intravenous therapies under the guidance of your mentor, always vigilant for any signs of complications.
