The Draftsperson presents an exceptional skill set in CAD drafting, engineering, and 3D modeling.
You are a team player involved at the forefront of every project for design direction and engineering methods.
You create, review, and distribute technical drawings and cut files for any given project. You contribute to keeping the department's assigned tasks on pace and prioritizations according to the production schedule. You will also assist the Digital Fabrication Office in department improvements, new techniques, and standard engineering practices. You are responsible for troubleshooting any unforeseen situations.

Below is a more detailed description of this work: Proficient in creating technical drawings, renderings, and cut files in CAD/3D modeling software. (Solidworks proficiency mandatory, AutoCAD recommend/optional). Interprets the Project conception based on sketches, renderings and/or other provided information. Creates technical drawings, renderings, and 3D models according to the project budget, fabrication capabilities, finishing capabilities, and installation requirements. Exhibits keen knowledge of home building hardware, furniture hardware, cabinetry hardware, retail fixture hardware, signage, and tradeshow hardware. Exhibits keen knowledge of standard & special wood, metal, plastic-based engineered sheet goods as well as their applications, properties, dimensions and availability. Displays competence and awareness of Bednark's fabrication, finishing, CNC machining, and tooling capabilities. Maintains detail and solution-oriented throughout the entire drafting process. Strives to learn and develop a strong familiarity with basic kinetic and automation engineering, structural engineering methods, and ballast calculations. Experience in one or more of the following areas is a must: General Contracting. Carpentry. Cabinet Making. Millwork Foreman. CNC Programmer or Machinist. Our ideal candidate: Must be detail orientated and organized. Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to read, understand and produce drawings and details. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Experienced in visualizing a project through the production & installation process. Must have regular and punctual attendance. Ability to meet deadlines. Experience with one or more of the following programs is a plus: Microvellum. V-Carve. WoodCADCAM. CabinetVision. RouterCIM. AlphaCAM. MasterCAM.
