PRN Dosimetrist – Flex Hours - Remote Novant Health Cancer Institute is currently seeking a PRN Dosimetrist to serve its clinics in the North Carolina region. This position is 100 % remote and will be utilized mainly for vacation coverage and volume surges. Preference will be given to those who can give partial coverage during clinic hours. All clinics utilize Varian Eclipse version 15.6 for treatment planning and ARIA is used as a Record and Verify system. We also use RadFormation products such as Clear Check, EZfluence, and Clear Calc. All our centers are equipped with Varian linacs (True Beams and IX).
The ideal candidate must hold a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) certification and have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Dosimetrist. The employee is a graduate of a formally organized hospital or college affiliated medical dosimetry program with clinical and classroom curriculum, and other training and/or experience as a medical dosimetrist so that the total duration of study, training and experience is at least 18 months, OR The employee possesses a Bachelor of Sciences degree with a major in the physical or biological sciences and also demonstrates completion of two or more years of on-the-job training and work experience in medical dosimetry under the supervision of a Certified Medical Dosimetrist or Medical Physicist, OR The employee possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in a field other than those of the physical or biological sciences and also demonstrates completion of on-the-job training in medical dosimetry under the supervision of a Certified Medical Dosimetrist or Medical Physicist and has a subsequent period of supervised work experience in medical dosimetry of a minimum of four years. Licensure/Certification: Certified Medical Dosimetrist or board eligible required. Additional Skills (required): Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attentiveness to detail required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment. Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail. Perform routine duties closely follow established procedures independent of supervision but consult with the Radiation oncologist and Medical Physicist as required. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
