Responsibilities
• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent and medical history interview• Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results• Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions• Provide center level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS)• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees• Manage employee incidents and refer to occupational health/ER when necessary• Be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS• Support investigations associated with pandemic threats• Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and donor transport• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent• Graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements• Currently licensed or certified as LPN or LVN• Current CPR and AED certification• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
