Responsibilities:
As a Technical Writer/Editor, you will play a crucial role in preparing, processing, and publishing classified and unclassified program documents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing documents for spelling, punctuation, syntax, and clarity, ensuring they meet predetermined standards of style and accuracy.
- Revising documents and collaborating with authors on suggested updates/improvements.
- Scheduling and conducting peer reviews.
- Ensuring proper marking, protection, and tracking of classified material, adhering to security procedures and document control requirements.
- Scheduling security reviews for classified documents.
- Providing status updates as documents progress through their workflow.
- Publishing documents to PDF for distribution to other organizations via agreed-upon methods.
- Coordinating and collaborating with internal departments to meet deadlines.
- Organizing, prioritizing, and tracking project assignments to completion.
- Providing periodic status reports on current tasking.
- Assisting with annual classified inventory and performing data uploads/downloads from closed systems.
- Offering meeting support, including scheduling, setup, and assistance during meetings.
- Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Business Services team.
- Performing other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of experience, Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience, or High School diploma with 8-10 years and at least 6-8 years of related professional experience.
- Experience handling and formatting classified documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired:
- Technical editing experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to efficiently multitask.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and advanced Microsoft Word skills (styles and templates).
- Experience handling Department of Energy classified documents.
- Collaborative team player focused on process improvement and efficiency.
