Job Description The Division Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations, performance, and growth of a specific division within the company. This role involves strategic planning, staff management, and ensuring that the division meets its financial and operational goals. The Division Manager will also be responsible for fostering a positive work environment, enhance productivity, and promote the company's values and vision.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve division objectives and company goals. Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance with company policies and regulations. Develop and manage division budgets, including forecasting, financial planning, and cost control. Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of service/product delivery. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of professionals to achieve their full potential. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development needs. Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture that promotes continuous improvement and innovation. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the division's market presence. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Represent the division at industry events, conferences, and networking functions. Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure the division adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on operations. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance and operational integrity. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on division performance, including financial results, operational metrics, and strategic initiatives. Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve division performance. Communicate effectively with senior management and other divisions to align goals and share best practices. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in business administration and/or management in a related field is preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a management role. Railroad and/or Vegetation Management experience a plus. Proven track record of successfully leading and growing a division or business unit. Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and execute tactically. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Proficiency in using business management software and tools. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively. Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, staff, and vendors. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and organizational needs. Work Environment: Mix of office-based with extensive travel to meet clients, attend industry events, and inspect and mentor field staff. May require working outside of regular business hours to meet deadlines and attend events.
