We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Disability Programs Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist-Exempt I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.Under general supervision, the Disability Programs Analyst provides administrative and analytical support to the Manager of Disability Programs and other administrators in the unit. Serves as the principal liaison between the Manager of Disability Programs and campus personnel and external community. Responsible for the analytical and administrative related functions for Leave of Absence, Disability Accommodations, and Workers' Compensation programs. Develops and delivers training as needed and provides operational support to program. The role involves processing employees' highly confidential and time-sensitive medical and disability data and documents. Demonstrates considerable judgment, discretion, and professionalism. Provides exceptional customer service to all contacts and takes initiative and ownership of all work performed. Please add additional information as you see necessary and applicable:What diversity means to youA description of your experiences with a diverse range of individualsA description of how issues of diversity have impacted you personally or professionallyEssential QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs plus two years of related experience.Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs. Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively. Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in industrial relations, human resources, public administration, business administration, or a related field. Possess minimum three years of experience performing administrative support to an executive. Demonstrated experience in Americans with Disabilities Act accommodations and/or integrated disability management work and experience with Workers' Compensation claims handling.General knowledge of human resource policies, practices, processes, and ethics. Knowledge of laws and/or collective bargaining agreements related to HR matters. Experience interpreting and applying policies and laws. Experience making recommendations based on reviewing and evaluating information and business process. Experience with recordkeeping, reporting, and/or budget tracking. Experience analyzing complex information to determine appropriate course of action. Experience develop and delivering training for employees. Experience working with case management systems such as AbsenceSoft and/or personnel management systems. Experience in applying HR processes and policies for employee leaves of absence and leave types, workers compensation, and disability accommodations.
