JOB SUMMARY: The Director for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is responsible for the overall strategic plans and day-to-day operational success. Performs other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES: 30% - Essential - Operations and Administration:
Oversees daily operations including program direction, supervision of staff and volunteers, office management, space utilization, maintenance of the Charles K. Cheezem Education Center, compliance with Clemson University policies and procedures.
25% - Essential - Program Development and Management:
Works collaboratively with OLLI staff and Advisory Board to deliver high quality course curriculum; Determines course offerings meets the needs and expectations of members. Oversees special interest groups, volunteer opportunities and social events; Establishes member charges for courses and other program offerings; Leads program evaluation processes; Implements changes for improvement to ensure courses, special-interest groups, social functions, excursions, and other programmatic elements meet the needs and expectations of members.
25% - Essential - Financial Management:
In coordination with the Advisory Board, administers fundraising and development programs, partnering with the University Foundation with special consideration of Legacy and Annual Giving; Actively pursue additional resources through sponsorships or gift in-kind contributions in support of OLLI activities; Pursues grants and other funding opportunities; Fully utilizes the Cheezem Center to offer a space rental program for community groups through outreach and rental agreements; Sets annual member dues and renewal policies; Manages all budgetary functions including budget and financial expenditures in compliance with University and OLLI policies; Provides fiscal reports as required and approval of all purchases and expenses.
10% - Essential - University and Community Relations:
Develops and implements a strategic plan in collaboration with the University to align with Clemson Elevate strategic plan; Identifies opportunities to partner with the University in support of the strategic goals; Oversees marketing outreach strategies to increase awareness of OLLI within the community; Builds collaborative relationships with University faculty, administration and stakeholders; Implements activities to connect OLLI with University, community organizations and learning conferences.
10% - Essential - Membership Outreach:
Develops and implements membership enrollment goals; Facilitates recruitment, maintenance and retention, including approaches to encourage a diverse membership profile; Leads evaluation system to collect member feedback on all aspects of OLLI operations; Collaborates with staff to develop and delivers seasonal course catalogs, newsletters and other promotional materials. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree
Work Exp 5+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Education - 1st Master's Degree - Education disciplines

Manages Work of Others - Manages work of others including hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. Plans organizational structure and job content.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops Department Budgets - Responsible for developing one or more departmental budget(s). Estimated amount of budgetary responsibility in dollar amount must be added. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 15% - Stand for prolonged period

COMPENSATION INFORMATION Pay: ($73,600.00 - $75,000.00


Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines .

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL Emergency Response - Level 1
In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
