Position Title: Director of Youth Development Reports to: Executive Director
Position Overview:
The Director of Youth Development will lead and manage all aspects of the youth development programs within a well-established non-profit organization. This includes overseeing staff, managing financials, ensuring compliance with community and licensing regulations, and enhancing program effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in non-profit management, and the ability to obtain additional relevant certifications. Key Responsibilities: Program Management: Develop, implement, and evaluate youth development programs to meet organizational goals and community needs. Ensure programs are aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements. Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate youth development staff. Foster a positive and productive work environment. Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff. Financial Management: Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring financial sustainability. Monitor and report on financial performance, including budget variances. Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and donations. Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including schools, parents, and local organizations. Represent the organization at community events and meetings. Collaborate with other community agencies to enhance program offerings and outreach. Licensing and Compliance: Ensure all programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for licensing purposes. Prepare for and respond to audits and inspections. Additional Certifications: Identify and obtain additional certifications relevant to youth development and program management. Stay updated on industry trends and standards to continually improve program quality.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Non-Profit Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization, specifically in youth development. Strong understanding of non-profit financial management and fundraising. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders. Knowledge of relevant licensing and regulatory requirements. Commitment to continuous professional development and obtaining additional certifications as needed.
