Director of Sales - Midwest Specialty Foods Group ( SFG) is looking for a Director of Sales in the retail industry specifically in processed meat. SFG is in Owensboro, KY, and the successful candidate will live within an hour drive from a major airport and available to travel 25%. Must have proven sales success in the retail industry.
SFG is a leading producer of premium-branded and private-label processed meat products in the U.S. Our diverse products include hams, turkey, hot dogs, bacon, and lunch meats. We are best known for our national brand Kentucky Legend Ham as well as several well-known regional brands, including Indiana Kitchen, Fischer's, Field, Mickelberry's, Kentuckian Gold, and Scott Pete.

Responsibilities:
Demonstrate leadership influence in representing our organization with customers and the community. Demonstrate leadership influence inside our organization. Identify and propose long-term strategies to drive a sustainable business as it relates to the customer and our portfolio of products. Manage potential branded and private label products and identify new product opportunities to help support and achieve business objectives. Develop and execute plans to achieve sales targets. Management of daily sales activity with Customer Service/Logistics. Supervise Broker in developing strategies at corporate and store level. Communicate with Corporate buyers on pricing, promotions, and sell-through analysis. Provide fill rate/in-stock results to buyers and replenishment managers. Meet weekly with Logistics to determine areas of improvement in on-time delivery. Collaborate with members of the sales management team on sales opportunities, competitive activity, and emerging sales trends. Requirements:
Bachelor's required or master's degree preferred with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration. 10+ years sales experience exceeding goals with multi-level national accounts. 10+ years with 90% of time in processed meat is preferred, including smoked meats, bacon, lunchmeat. Experience selling to or managing large customers with deduction and/or portal management. Thorough understanding of broker management in a processed retail environment. Excellent computer skills, including building reports in Excel and developing presentations in PowerPoint. Delivering extensive business reviews, new item presentations, plan-o-gram reviews, utilizing key analysis including syndicated data tools. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
