Sightline is a multi-year initiative that leverages a cross-disciplinary, inter-entity team and hundreds of stakeholders in selecting and implementing the next ERP software platform for the Johns Hopkins enterprise, enabling broader operational transformation. Sightline's scope includes business transformation related to processes, policies and other operating considerations that will impact employees working within administrative support functions as well as mission critical staff focused on teaching, research and patient care.
The Sightline program will be focused on change management and communications as it relates to changes in technology, policy, and process redesign. This role will be responsible for ensuring impacts of such changes and redesign efforts are well known, communicated, and understood throughout the Hopkins community by impacted stakeholders and cohorts.
We are seeking a Director of Readiness & Engagement who will report to the Director of Change Management.
The Director for Readiness & Engagement is a key member of the Sightline - Business Modernization Project's Change Management team and provides leadership, oversight and management of the Project's readiness and engagement efforts.
The candidate plans, organizes, leads and directs multiple initiatives in support of the Change Management portfolio. The candidate possesses superior interpersonal, strategic planning and thinking, analytical, communications and collaboration skills to foster transparent and service-oriented relationships throughout the University and Health System. The candidate also supervises Readiness and Engagement Specialists on the project and works in an integrated manner with the other areas of the Change Management team, and the other functional teams on the project.
This role provides strategic and tactical oversight for the Change Management team responsible for assessing and measuring change impacts, organizational readiness, and change adoption throughout the project lifecycle. The role will also provide strategic and tactical oversight of stakeholder engagement, the development of a robust Change Co-Creation Network (traditionally referred to as Change Network) that is engaged and participating across all project phases and also supporting project communications and feedback throughout the University and Health System. The Director designs and executes engagement campaigns for Sightline's stakeholders and Co-Creation Network, including in-person and virtual events that support the project's engagement and priorities/initiatives. This role identifies opportunities to recognize stakeholders, teams, and individuals supporting the project through the Co-Creation Network.
The Director must maintain close contact and collaboration with the other Sightline's Change Management teams include Communications, Training & Development, and Program Management and must also work closely with Sightline's functional teams and transformation leads to align efforts and execution.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities The responsibilities listed below are typical examples of the work performed by this position. Not all duties assigned to this position are included, nor is it expected that everyone in this position will be assigned every job responsibility. Strategic Planning As a member of the Project Sightline leadership team, lead strategic and tactical initiatives by prioritizing, developing and implementing those initiatives in order to achieve institutional goals. Provides information that executive leadership need to make strategic decisions. Balances available personnel and funding resources in support of meeting operational and strategic initiatives. Supervises the broader Readiness & Engagement team on the project. Relationship Management Represent the Sightline Change Management Team in executive meetings both within and outside of Johns Hopkins. Manage customer relationships inside and outside of Johns Hopkins. Create and promote the highest quality of services and support for the project team and project stakeholders. Foster a collaborative, transparent and consensus-building environment. Staff Management Develop and implement the organizational strategy and design for the Readiness & Engagement Team. Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged team of specialists under the Readiness & Engagement portfolio by recruiting, selecting and developing talent, supporting mentorship, workforce development and succession planning and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Ensures staff provide high levels of customer service, both internally and externally. Cultivates an environment in which staff respect and adhere to integrity and ethics by integrating those values into work processes. Program Responsibilities Design and create a robust Change Network model that moves beyond the goals of communication dissemination and toward a network of highly engaged co-creators that participate throughout all project phases. Network members will provide their technical knowledge, experience, and feedback as end-users, super users, or mission-critical stakeholders impacted by administrative processes, policies and technology. Oversee and manage a team focused on a successful Co-Creation Network, working closely with the project's Communications team and functional teams, as well as with the local entities across the University and Health System. Responsible for developing an approach and methodology, in partnership with the Project's Implementing Partner, for assessing and documenting change impacts, organizational readiness, and change adoption across administrative functions and processes as well as for other transformation initiatives that fall within the project's scope. Oversee the team implementing and managing the measurement, documentation, reporting and overall management of change impact assessment, readiness, and change adoption throughout the project's lifecycle. Integrate closely with the Office of Change Management's other teams to include but not limited to Program Management, Communications, and Training & Development. Oversee and manage System Implementation Partner work related to the Readiness & Engagement portfolio assuring delivery of services are on time and within budget. Develops scopes of work for consulting engagements required throughout the project as it pertains to the Readiness & Engagement portfolio. Lead promotion of Sightline's C0-Creation Network programs and events, developing and executing outreach plans in partnership with Sightline's Communications team cross-institutional communications teams as needed. Co-Chair Sightline's Communications & Engagement Advisory Committee to assure coordination with University and Health System Communications leadership and teams, and to solicit appropriate feedback on Co-Creation Network and other project messaging. Work closely with Sightline's Director for Training & Development to assess and measure readiness and adoption related to training and the effectiveness of training post Go-Live. Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent management and project management skills. Able to interact well with all levels of management. Builds highly successful teams. Collaborates with peers, colleagues and staff, exercises persuasion and objectivity. Ability to prioritize work and ensure projects are completed on time. Superior written and oral communications skills. Exemplary customer service skills and ability to exemplify and instill this orientation throughout the department. Strong leadership skills, able to achieve results in a large, complex setting. Diplomatic, creative, innovative, able to work effectively at both the strategic and detail level. Organizational skills, ability to prioritize conflicting demands. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Policy, Psychology/Sociology, or related field required. Ten years of progressively responsible related work experience with at least 5-7 years leading and managing in a higher education or complex setting. Preferred Qualifications A Master's Degree in Business, Public Policy, or a related field. Demonstrated experience with change management portfolios/projects. Demonstrated experience with technology/ERP transformation. Experience building Change Networks or equivalent structures to enable broad organizational change. Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills. Classified Title: Director of Readiness & Engagement

Starting Salary Range: $110,700 - $194,000 Annually (Commensurate with experience)
