Role Summary:
The Director of Public Sector Engagement will report to the VP of Program Strategy and will be responsible for leading and implementing strategies and initiatives for public sector engagement within our global programs. You will provide direction, contribute to strategic plans, and coordinate our broader multi-lateral and global health stakeholder initiatives. As the Director of Public Sector Engagement, you will serve as a thought partner for the development of external collaborations among international NGOs and governments to accelerate our global health impact.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and oversight for the strategy and implementation of multilateral relationships at the public sector and INGO levels, in coordination with the CEO, Region Heads, and the VPs of Programs, aligning with organizational strategy.
- Maintain day-to-day relationships with key public sector and global health partners, and provide direction and support to team members in these strategic partnerships.
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders in the public sector to promote collaboration and achieve shared objectives.
- Lead the negotiation and development of partnership agreements and contracts with global health stakeholders and INGOs.
- Monitor and evaluate partnership performance and impact.
- Stay updated on relevant policies, regulations, and trends in the public sector.
- Represent our organization at conferences, meetings, and other events to promote bi-lateral, multi-lateral, and global partnerships.
- Perform complex and strategically critical assignments in your functional area.
- Make decisions that impact the organization at large, consulting with executives on all high-risk/high-impact decisions.
- Work with key decision-makers on issues that shape broad design matters and future process improvements.
- Collaborate with team members across the organization to deeply understand organizational operations and share expertise to shape broad design matters and future program improvements.
- Contribute to strategic changes with organization-wide impact, recognized internally as a leading expert in your field.
- Assist the VP of Program Strategy in setting the strategy for new global initiatives for the organization's programmatic work.
- Build influential relationships with our partners and develop new strategic relationships to accelerate the work of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Master's in Public Policy, Public Health, or other relevant certification required, PhD a plus.
- 10+ years of professional experience in international humanitarian programs or a related field, preferably in the global health industry.
- Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to make critical decisions.
- Advanced partnerships and project management skills, and the ability to navigate politically sensitive and fast-paced environments with a solid track record of following through on commitments.
- Experience working in a global and multicultural capacity across time zones, government agencies, and among diverse teams.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; written and verbal fluency in French, Spanish, or another language is a plus.
- Willing and able to travel domestically or internationally.
