Director of Product Design
As the Director of Product Design you will ensure emocha's product is intuitive, delightful and impactful. You will work alongside product, and engineering to conceptualize, design, user-test, and iterate on our core product and strategic projects, but will also work closely with our data, patient ops, and marketing teams

Job Overview
As the Director of Product Design you will ensure emocha's product is intuitive, delightful and impactful. You will work alongside product, and engineering to conceptualize, design, user-test, and iterate on our core product and strategic projects, but will also work closely with our data, patient ops, and marketing teams. As a designer with strong UI/UX skills of your own, you will lead and individually contribute to to product pods building experiences for patients, providers, coaches, and nurses. You will manage our product design team and take the lead on design ops including our visual design system. You will partner with product and engineering leadership to continually evolved the research, design, and dev process, and will be ultimately responsible for design delivery across the team. As a manager, you will grow and guide our product design team, further developing their careers at emocha.

Responsibilities
Lead product design process from ideation through journey mapping, wireframing, validation with end users, prototyping, and final visual design
Ensure product design fulfills high level business goals, requirements, and user stories, while adhering to core emocha design principles around usability, engagement, and delight
Manage delivery of UI/UX to multiple agile product teams which serve different end user experiences (patient, providers, health coaches, and payers)
Directly manage UI/UX designers, lead product design reviews, and guide individual growth and professional development
Identify opportunities to improve processes and create a stronger user-centered organization and partner with product and engineering leadership to implement
Directly contribute by delivering UI/UX on complex, high-priority design initiatives
Oversee design research around core product initiatives to improve user experience or inform new product ideas and guide user feedback sessions with end users and subject matter experts
Present design concepts to internal and external stakeholders and\xa0communicate how visuals should feel, sound, and move
Help build and evangelize the design system and proactively propose system evolutions, additions and improvements
Use research and product analytics data to inform design decisions
Ensure product marketing has assets needed for product communication about new features and experiences

Preferred Requirements
6+ years experience working in a team that ships product with at least 2 years of product design management experience
Demonstrated ability to help a team navigate ambiguity
Experience managing UI/UX for multiple sprint teams at once
Ability to drive progress independently and through collaboration
Deep empathy for people facing significant health challenges
Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
Strong knowledge of and passion for the craft of research
Strong visual aesthetic and commitment to delivering beautiful, high-fidelity work
Systems-thinker with the ability to design for online and offline experiences
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners and work in a fast-paced environment\xa0(bonus points for health tech / startup experience)
