FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: ******** Position Summary
The Director of Payroll Strategy develops the strategic direction and executes MultiCare's strategy for the management of multi-state payroll. The Director partners with Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, IT and Finance to execute this strategy. Essential Functions Leads and oversees work on all system initiatives that impact payroll
Develops process improvements within payroll and partners with Director of Payroll Operations and other stakeholders with implementation of the improvements
Reviews payroll impacting organizational decisions, proposes and advocates for changes to ensure standardization across the organization where needed
Develop KPIs/targets to ensure that the strategy is executed appropriately for the organization
Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, business or other related field
Minimum eight (8) years of experience leading large complex payroll departments
Minimum five (5) years of management or supervisory experience
Prior experience in an integrated multi-state payroll organization required
Prior experience in a union environment required
Prior experience with complex compensation structures preferred
Prior experience with executive and physician compensation programs preferred

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $129,293.00 - $186,035.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
