Director of Nursing Full Time | Paid Time Off and 9 Paid Holidays! Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Director of Nursing for Kensington Place in Columbus, Ohio. Kensington Place offers beautiful, comfortable and secure Senior Living options including Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care.


The ideal candidate will share Our Mission : Creating a better world by serving people in need. What will I do as a Director of Nursing with Lutheran Social Services? Monitors and ensures the provision of quality nursing care to residents with a resident-centered philosophy and in accordance with Agency standards, and all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines. Develops departmental objectives, policies and procedures in support of these regulations and guidelines and directs the implementation of such. Continuously stays abreast of changes in federal, state, and/or local expectations and revises procedures accordingly. Acts as a liaison between residents, their families, staff, and the general public responding to inquiries and providing information on nursing care and services. May screen prospective and existing residents to ensure staff have the ability to provide the level of care necessary. Partners with Activities Department to ensure activities meet the various cognitive and physical needs of residents utilizing AL services. Evaluates, monitors, and manages staffing levels and availability to ensure optimal quality of care while minimizing overtime in alignment with fluctuating AL census and care levels. Provides leadership, development and work direction to the nursing staff of Kensington Place. This includes selecting, orienting, coaching, providing performance feedback, disciplining, and termination of employees as necessary. Ensures continuous, effective, appropriate staff development and training via in-service programs tailored toward the specialized needs of geriatric patients and in accordance with regulatory standards and requirements. Implements and oversees infection control procedures to ensure resident and staff health and safety at all times. Participates in the development of the annual budget for the nursing department. Continuously monitors and makes recommendations for adjustments as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the nursing department while maintaining fiscal integrity and responsibility. Serves as a member of the management team of Kensington Place and as a member of the Leadership Team of LSS. Leads and/or participates in facility surveys. Requirements for a Director of Nursing with Lutheran Social Services:: A degree from an accredited School of Nursing and current Ohio nursing licensure. Registered Nurse preferred. Minimum 5+ years clinical experience. Experience in with geriatric patients strongly preferred. 3+ years previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
