Travel: Occasionally Summary: In collaboration with senior leadership and subordinate staff, plans, the ideal candidate implements and evaluates processes related to performance improvement, staffing effectiveness, fiscal management, staff competence and customer service outcomes within designated units or services. Ensures that regulatory requirements/standards are communicated, implemented and monitored. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to plan, implement & evaluate activities related to department, hospital and objectives. Models customer service excellence.
Responsibilities: Quality Assurance and Improvement: Ensures care quality and appropriateness. Establishes unit-based quality improvement programs. Uses metrics to manage accountability. Promotes shared decision-making and collaboration. Facilitates staff effectiveness. Customer Relations and Satisfaction: Fosters positive relations with stakeholders. Addresses complaints promptly and provides feedback. Monitors satisfaction levels. Staff Development and Competency: Plans, implements, and evaluates staff development programs. Incorporates performance improvement findings into education. Supports professional growth initiatives. Ensures staff participation in education programs. Financial Management: Develops, monitors, and adjusts budgets. Implements cost containment measures. Collaborates with finance representatives. Human Resource Management: Conducts HR activities in compliance with policy. Interviews, selects, evaluates, and counsels staff. Monitors retention and recruitment activities. Policy Compliance and Standards: Ensures compliance with regulations and standards. Reviews and revises policies as needed. Develops evidence-based clinical policies. Goal Setting and Communication: Develops unit/service goals and objectives. Maintains communication channels with staff. Conducts regular staff meetings. Regulatory Compliance and Audit: Ensures compliance with laws and regulations. Implements audit recommendations. Ensures diversity objectives are met. Required Qualifications: Masters Degree Required in Nursing, Business, Health Care Administration or related field. Or two degrees one must be in Nursing. Three to five years experience, which may be concurrent clinical and/or progressively more responsible management experience. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
