Founded in 1900, Bancroft School will celebrate its 125th school year in 2024-25. The 30-acre campus sits in a scenic residential neighborhood just north of downtown. Over 430 students from 70 cities and towns around central Massachusetts represent a variety of backgrounds which contribute to a challenging and diverse learning environment. Guided by strategic plan BluePrint125 and new Head of School, Stephanie Luebbers, who began her tenure in July of 2023, Bancroft is poised to continue to lead in PreK-12 education.
Position Summary
Bancroft School is seeking a Director of Enrollment Management, a 12 month position which reports directly to the Head of School. The Director oversees three full time staff and leads all aspects of enrollment at Bancroft, including financial aid, international enrollment, as well as divisional and Hope Graham Program enrollment.
Job Responsibilities
Bancrofts Director of Enrollment Management is responsible for sustaining and enhancing the Schools strong position in the marketplace. Design and execute annual admission and enrollment goals and strategies in accordance with the Schools commitment to promote economic, geographic, racial, and ethnic diversity in the student body and grow the enrollment to 500 students over the next 2-3 years. Current enrollment stands at 434 students. Provide leadership in admission, marketing, and recruitment and direct the process of attracting, selecting, and enrolling students while sustaining and enhancing the Schools position in the marketplace. Manage new student enrollment and the re-enrollment process for current students. Ensure the continued academic, athletic, and co-curricular excellence of the Schools student body through recruitment and enrollment practices informed by the Schools strategic priorities. Administer and leverage financial aid to attract and retain a talented class of students while achieving net revenue targets, in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer and Head of School. Award all returning and new families annual aid and manage a $4 million financial aid budget. Encourage departments and offices on campus to build relationships with admission officers and prospective families. Specifically, this includes to: Foster a collaborative relationship with senior colleagues as well as with the Board of Trustees, alumni board, and Head of School. Coordinate with the Communications staff the development and implementation of strategic marketing ideas, including the effective use of social media and other online tools, and production of all admission marketing materials. Maintain good communication with the athletics, arts, and academic departments to ensure that the School enrolls students most able to contribute to and benefit from the Schools offerings. Work closely with the Division Heads, Dean of Students, and Director of College Counseling on issues related to student life, with a focus on ensuring that all students admitted to Bancroft thrive. Work closely with the Alumni and Advancement Office and Head of School on issues concerning alumni relations and advancement. Maintain statistical and trend data related to admission and enrollment. Present statistical and trend information to the senior staff, the Board of Trustees, and the faculty. Formulate annual Admission and Enrollment Action Plan with goals and objectives. Attend Board of Trustee meetings, participate in strategic planning, and keep the Board fully apprised of the Schools admission, financial aid, and marketing endeavors. Oversee the admission information management software, the online application and submission of materials, and testing administration and logistics. Manage the international student admission process, ensuring adherence to requirements and institutional policies while maintaining relationships with partner hosts and recruiting agencies. Skills and Abilities: Understanding of current enrollment, admission and marketing trends and best practices, with the flexibility and strategic vision to develop new and emerging strategies and practices Adeptness with both the art and science of admissions; the ability to connect authentically with people and utilize data effectively to inform admissions/enrollment activity Demonstrated engagement in and a commitment to the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and a robust understanding of data Demonstrated success with enrollment management and financial aid platforms Excellent communication skills, especially empathetic listening, engaging speaking and storytelling, and strong writing skills Experience with researching and adopting best practices in enrollment management and financial aid Ability to manage, motivate, and work collaboratively with others Requirements: At least 5 years of admission and financial aid experience Excellent communication skills Outstanding administrative skills and strong supervisory experience Experience in developing strategic admissions/financial aid models Experience in managing net tuition revenue targets Proven ability to analyze, summarize, and present data Expertise in local, regional, and national enrollment trends and fluency with policies and best practices in admissions and financial aid Experience with software systems that support recruitment, admission review, and financial aid management A BA/BS is required Bancroft seeks dynamic candidates who will be active participants in the community beyond the classroom, with interest in supporting extracurricular activities in athletics, clubs, and other programs.
