Job Description Summary The Director of Human Resources drives all HR strategy and initiatives including support of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, payroll, HRIS processing, and career development, while always ensuring compliance and communication for all ski resort team members. You'll promote a positive team culture within Mountain Operations while also championing these efforts across Aspen Skiing Company as you work on special projects, initiatives, and growth in collaboration with the corporate team. As a leader of our culture, this Director of Human Resources will ensure colleagues deliver incredible guest experience, engage in community relations, and bring our brand to life.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $100,000- $130,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions  Implements human resources programs, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, Affirmative Action and Equal Employment opportunity compliance, and labor relations.  Implements human resources strategies, policies, and procedures; including coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, oversees the performance review process, and annual merit review.  Directs human resources organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organization goals.  Directs human resources operational strategies by analyzing trends; preparing critical measurements; implementing production, productivity, quality, customer-service, safety, security, and health strategies; leading system improvements.  Directs human resources financial strategies by anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.  Completes human resources special projects by identifying and researching human resources issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction.  Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.  Serve as a partner and coach to the HR team on all people-related functions to cultivate an employee centric culture.  Guides management and employee actions by applying human resources policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values  Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.  Protects organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.  Improves human resources management job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.  Contributes to human resources and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.  Contributes to supporting change, as the organization grows, and mentors, shares knowledge, and guides new leaders that join HR during this growth. Other duties as assigned  Qualifications BA/BS degree in a relevant field of study such as Human Resources or Business Management and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a related Human Resources Role PHR/SPHR/SHRM CP Certification preferred  Prior Ski Resort experience preferred; must have general knowledge of ski industry operations.  Strong leadership skills, communication skills, negotiating skills, professional integrity and sound business judgment  Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to analyze data  HRIS experience, Timekeeping Software Experience (Kronos preferred), Talent Management Software experience (Smart Recruiters preferred) and Worker's Compensation Claims Processing Software and RTP experience highly desired  Knowledge of: Talent Acquisition / Talent Development / Talent Management processes in the following areas: Recruiting, Leadership Competencies, Talent Assessments, Succession Management, Performance Management, Workforce Analytics, Safety and Risk Management processes and analytics.  Knowledge of current trends and Human Resources Management practices  Understanding and application of pertinent federal, state, local laws, codes, and regulations including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, ADEA, EEO.  Additional Information Supervision Given and Received
Supervision Given: Exercises supervision over the HR Team. Assigns result driven projects, and assists with unusual situations that do not have clear objectives. Instruction, advice and assistance available at request of employee. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation; recognition; disciplinary action; training and development, budgeting, and labor relations.
Supervision Received: Works under supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them.

Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
No adverse or hazardous conditions
Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
