About the Job
Marcum Search has been engaged by our client, located in Nassau County to be the recruiter for the Director of Accounting and Finance position. The Director will be responsible for Financial Reporting, job costing, contract review and accounting; they will also be responsible for process improvement, policy and procedure, system improvements to increase the efficacy of monthly, yearly reporting and identify trends, cost savings, and anomalies. internal reporting and management reports. Responsibilities also include monthly financial review and analysis of all on going jobs. This person will work closely with the VP of Finance ensuring all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP. They will also be the liaison with the external auditors.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a BBA in Accounting/Finance; MBA and/or CPA is a plus. It is preferred that the person have 8+ years of experience of which 5+ will be in a construction, engineering or other similar industry with strong project costing requirements; must be computer savvy with expertise in Excel, and accounting software systems, ideally Timberline, Sage, or other related construction software.
