Responsibilities
• Manage all accounting functions including accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, grant accounting, payroll, district revenues, bond finances, and general accounting operations• Develop budgets necessary to meet the educational needs of the district• Maintain and report cash flow activities to the Superintendent• Ensure proper records are maintained and accurate financial reports are available• Supervise activity fund accounts and reconcile fund balances• Conduct year-end audit and state reporting• Provide leadership and oversight for the annual financial audit• Administer employee insurance plans and manage worker's compensation and unemployment claims• Manage the district's insurance programs• Manage budget development and process for Federal and State grants• Collaborate with the Curriculum Department to monitor funding for grants and other external programs• Assist with labor contract negotiations and provide financial data• Attend and provide financial reports at board meetings• Supervise Business Office personnel• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting• Practical work experience in the accounting field• Experience in a supervisory capacity• Experience with computerized financial accounting systems• Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills• Strong organizational and leadership skills• CPA designation (preferred)• Master's Degree in Educational Administration, finance or related field (preferred)• Experience in school financial, governmental or non-profit accounting (preferred)• Experience in union collective bargaining and labor relations (preferred)• High level of integrity, dependability, and strong data analysis skills• Knowledge of Skyward software
