JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: Responsibilities include leading, coordinating, and implementing the District plan for curriculum, instruction, and assessment initiatives to facilitate best practices in all learning environments. The Director of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment will work with the Office of School Leadership to design and implement curriculum, instruction, and assessments in support of academic success in alignment with educator effectiveness. The Director will design, direct, and support academic and administrative program reviews and related activities that demonstrate institutional effectiveness, as well as coordinate all curriculum and assessments for each site and location. In addition, the Director will support the implementation and training of educator effectiveness for certified evaluations and direct program evaluation practices for relevant programs. Essential Functions: Plans, organizes, and coordinates strategic assessment programs, projects, and activities. Develops and establishes operating goals, policies, and procedures for the school leadership department, as appropriate; recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance instructional effectiveness and efficiency. Leads the development, organization, analysis, and reporting of student learning outcomes and related activities to support planning activities. Leads the continued utilization of NWEA Assessment to measure student achievement and growth within the district. Annually ensures that there are quality assessments included in the curriculum. Ensures appropriate student data is available to guide all aspects of student achievement discussions. Holds meetings to create quality data reports and customization of data for individual stakeholders. Plans, supports, and leads monthly K-12 SAC Meetings. Identifies data supports to make the data team process more efficient and effective using district software systems. Evaluates current resources and programs concerning achievement outcomes to identify areas of strength and need; make appropriate recommendations. Supports the ongoing development and implementation of comprehensive outcomes assessment programs for all academic and administrative units that support the goals of the strategic plan. Directs K-12 assessments to continuously improve student growth and achievement while comparing data state-wide. Serves the district as the District Assessment Coordinator with CDE. Participates in the collection and analysis of various assessment data to support departmental accreditation and program reviews, including dissemination of results and assisting others with understanding and appropriately using them. Interprets assessment findings and prepares an annual assessment report to summarize such findings, with particular emphasis on the quality of the assessment efforts and findings that influence institutional decision-making and policy development. Records, stores, manages, and disseminates confidential and sensitive assessment data, as appropriate. Supervises and supports coordinators and facilitators for elementary curriculum. Coordinates and supports READ Act Specialists and Instructional Coaches. Leads and supervises office personnel, including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; provides performance management feedback as appropriate. Addresses parent concerns regarding curriculum and assessment. Support buildings with the implementation of the curriculum and assessment systems to differentiate instruction and respond to issues and concerns. Supports school improvement efforts in alignment with UIP goals. Administers and/or monitors budgets for all assessment areas. Attends Board of Education meetings. Advises staff and school board on policy related to student achievement and assessment. Other Duties:
Knowledge, Skills, and Mental Ability Knowledgeable with state and federal laws regarding education and assessments. Expertise in assessment, data analysis, and educational outcomes. Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with diverse members of the Greeley/Evans District-6 community including students, faculty, staff, administrators, auditors, and accreditors. Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
