This is a full-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties: Provide leadership and vision for Developmental Mathematics Program. Explore and introduce new initiatives and best practices, including making connections to mathematical procedures to improve instructional delivery. Develop, implement, and monitor policies/procedures that support the goals and objectives of the program. Oversee curricular, instructional, and administrative activities of the program. Improve program delivery to meet diverse student needs, including acceleration. Prepare course schedule, budget, and faculty teaching load for full-time and adjunct faculty. Maintain a professional development program for faculty and staff that addresses multiple modalities but not limited to content, technology, and pedagogy. Develop and implement planning and assessment activities for the Developmental Mathematics Program, including student learning outcomes, completion rate, retention, and success. Develop and implement a comprehensive student support system including tutoring, testing, advising, and intervention. Run reports bi-annually and address any immediate and long-term concerns. Actively communicate with staff on a regular basis. Create and maintain a forum for developing initiatives, strategies, and methods used to teach developmental mathematics in a relevant manner. Introduce activities to improve instruction and delivery. Work evening hours and some Saturdays as needed. Work closely and coordinate with college-level math faculty. Teach at least one Developmental Math class (up to 4 credits) per semester. Perform other related duties when necessary. Qualifications: Master's Degree in Mathematics or related field, Doctorate preferred Knowledge of best practices and models in developmental mathematics education Experience instructing developmental students in higher education Excellent interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and computing skills Knowledge of testing and assessment for developmental mathematics education Ability to analyze, synthesize and create reports The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
