Director of Development Space One Eleven seeks a full-time Director of Development to help move the organization upward. The Director of Development will be an integral team member working in conjunction with the board and senior staff to oversee the organization's fundraising efforts and develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy. The ideal candidate will enjoy being with people, be eager to learn and grow and be creative in their approach to fundraising. About Space One Eleven Founded in 1986, Space One Eleven's mission is to provide professional opportunities for artists, create a forum for public understanding of contemporary art, and offer arts education to area youth. Space One Eleven showcases contemporary exhibitions and promotes social justice through the visual arts, where artists innovate, explore, and take risks while creating provocative new work. Space One Eleven's rigorous afterschool art classes and summer art camps serve youth in grades 2 through 12. Space One Eleven also offers art classes in public schools, and workshops for adults in its downtown studios. Areas of Responsibility Develop and execute SOE's multi-year fundraising plan for short and long-term funding goals. Cultivate, steward, and manage a portfolio of existing donors, and research and identify new prospective donors. Develop and implement strategies to increase support from current revenue streams including individual giving in the form of small-dollar donations and major gifts, and corporate donations. Foster relationships with donors through communication and arrange face-to-face visits. Research and identify new grant opportunities including local and national foundations. Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders including pledge reminders, thank you letters, and grant reports. Work with the programs team to collect information and data to support grant proposals and reports. Prepare and present regular reports on fundraising progress. Work with the programs team to implement public relations plan and coordinate marketing efforts. Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree required. • 3+ years of fundraising and/or communications experience. • Proven proposal writing and strong proposal success rate. Success in meeting or exceeding fundraising goals. Track record of donor network expansion. Strong skills in developing outreach strategies and activity plans and superior ability to establish and enhance corporate sponsor base. Adept at researching and presenting an array of innovative fundraising ideas to a variety of donor audiences. Exceptionally focused and resourceful with a superb work ethic. Able to function well independently and as a member of a fundraising team. Proficient with MS Office Suite with a strong knowledge of MS Excel. Experience with data entry systems and reporting. Working knowledge of Donor Perfect database is a plus. Be available for occasional travel, in-state and out-of-state. Compensation Salary range: $60,000 – $68,000 Benefits: Health Reimbursement Account, SIMPLE IRA up to 3% employer match, paid vacation, and holidays.
