POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Compliance is a seasoned professional specializing in regulatory compliance, particularly in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs. This role entails overseeing day-to-day compliance operations, managing multiple projects to ensure accurate submissions, reports, and audits are completed within deadlines. The Director ensures that all procedures and documents are in compliance with federal and state regulations, regularly updating policies in response to legislative changes. They interpret and disseminate regulatory information, staying abreast of Federal and State rules and regulations pertinent to Tax Credit, HUD, HOME, and BOND programs. Additionally, the Director develops and updates compliance issues in proprietary manuals, modifies company forms and contracts, and conducts compliance training as necessary. They also handle salary administration and play an active role in hiring and recommending personnel within the Compliance department. Furthermore, the Director participates in committees, special projects, and seeks additional responsibilities to contribute to the organization's compliance objectives effectively.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Expert in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs and possesses extensive experience with Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations.
Provides oversight for day-to-day compliance operations, ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.
Manages multiple projects to ensure accurate and timely completion of submissions, reports, and audits.
Ensures all procedures and documents comply with current federal and state regulations, regularly updating policies in response to legislative changes.
Interprets and disseminates regulatory information, staying informed about Federal and State rules and regulations relevant to Tax Credit, HUD, HOME, and BOND programs.
Develops and updates compliance issues in proprietary manuals as necessary.
Modifies company forms and contracts to align with regulatory requirements.
Presents information on compliance updates and issues to relevant stakeholders.
Assists with regulatory and compliance training initiatives.
Handles salary administration and participates in the hiring process for Compliance department personnel.
Actively participates in committees, special projects, and seeks additional responsibilities as needed.
Performs any other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field
Minimum 5 years of operations leadership experience, preferably in property management, insurance, or financial services industries.
Proven track record of building and managing high-performing client services teams.
Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to lead by example and inspire others.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software platforms.
Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous process improvement.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Familiarity with property management industry regulations and best practices is a plus.
