SALARY RANGE
$55,000 - $75,000
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Community Employment is responsible for leading Job One Careers Community Employment and serving as a liaison with government funders, referrals, customers, and businesses. Accountable for managing Job One Careers Community Employment in accordance with accreditation standards. Responsible for the financial sustainability of the program and completes required reports and billing in a timely manner. Utilizing Discovery & Exploration with clients to obtain the jobs the people we serve desire.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required; Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management. Masters preferred. Experience may substitute for a degree.
EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in leading programs for people with developmental disabilities.
Previous experience in business, marketing or collaborating with individuals with disabilities in a vocational rehabilitation setting is required.
Demonstrates organizational and leadership development skills
Ability to work with multiple constituency groups, including funders, parents, business community, and government regulators.
MDVR and DMH billing knowledge desired
COMPUTER SKILLS
MS Office:  Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, Teams, SharePoint, Set-Works, Vertex.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Must have a valid driver's license at time of application and obtain a Class E Chauffeur's License within 30 days of hire.
1st Aid/CPR Certified within 30 days of hire.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of programs and services for people with developmental disabilities preferred
Willingness to travel on company business in personal or company vehicle.
Exceptional written, oral, and communication skills.
Ability to be flexible.
Respect the rights and dignity of people with developmental disabilities and willingness to advocate on their behalf.
Affirmative drug and alcohol screening.
Affirmative criminal/abuse background checkESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performance Management-Provides oversight, feedback, communication, and direction to the Community Employment team made up of Employment Specialists, Senior Employment Specialists, and Community Support Specialists that leads to greater effectiveness and contributes to attainment of department/unit goals.Trains staff for maximum performance, ensuring they have the tools and training needed to provide Employment Services utilizing Customized Employment strategies and are meeting service quality standards.Provide oversight and training to maintain a high performing team managed and operating in a manner consistent with P.E.O.P.L.E values.Provides sound input and contribution to department/unit goals and strategic plans.Function as the public face of Job One Careers Community Employment, effectively representing Job One Careers and the Board of Directors in the public arena.Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards.Prepare initial draft of annual budget for Careers program and work with leadership staff to maintain an accurate budget throughout the year.Display an understanding of financial management including reports.Work with leadership staff to apply for and maintain funding from County Boards of Service.Prepare and submit reports as required by funding agencies and entities.Analyze and prepare outcomes measurement and report objectives.Support Employment Specialist team to develop effective strategies for individualized job development and placement.Attend training and other events to establish collaborative relationships with other entities that collaborate with jobseekers with disabilities.Establishes and maintains employer and business community contacts.Participates in activities related to job development and placement.Educates employment communities regarding work experience opportunities for program individuals. Provides prospective employers with appropriate program information; responds to employers' bias and concerns regarding hiring persons with disabilities.Provides training, oversite, and job services according to established policies and procedures.Perform Employment Specialist duties as needed to ensure participants are served, specifically at times of staff turnover. May require assuming of individual cases or caseload to ensure there isn't service disruptionMaintains professional appearance, appropriate to the day's tasks.Other duties as assigned Job Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $50,000 - 74,999
