Responsible for the leadership, management, execution and growth of the School's annual giving program while overseeing constituent programs that serve to promote the broader goals of engagement with and connection to Pomfret.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide strategic direction and planning in the context of growing the annual giving program and supporting the greater advancement and campaign goals of Pomfret. Determine overall annual giving goals for dollars and donors and the component goals for various constituencies and build strategic and tactical plans for achieving these goals. Develop and manage a strategy, in partnership with the School's Communications Office, to maximize annual giving revenue using new and existing programmatic initiatives (e.g., Day of Giving, Reunion, etc.) and multi-channel outreach (e.g., electronic solicitation, direct mail appeals, alumni newsletters, magazine, social media, etc.).   Track donor performance, manage audience segmentation and targeting, and explore new and innovative strategies.  Direct, manage, and develop the Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement, who oversees the Alumni Association Executive Council (AAEC), class agent program, Student Advancement Board, local and regional events, and constituent communications. Work effectively and collaboratively with the School's major gifts program to gain strong participation in annual giving and build strategies for moving donors to higher giving levels. Develop and oversee effective stewardship programs for annual giving donors. Job Requirements: Strong appreciation for the values of Pomfret and its key strategic initiatives along with the ability to effectively communicate them for a diverse audience. Ability to create and manage annual fundraising plans with goals, objectives, identified deliverables and timelines. Significant fundraising experience with a track record of achievement leading an annual fund program or components of one. Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to use data to recognize opportunities, identify critical, high yield activities and prioritize them to attain goals. Knowledgeable in the use of various software applications, including spreadsheet, word processing, CRM database, and presentation software.  The ability to lead staff, set mutually established goals, and manage performance. Demonstrated organizational and communication skills as well as ability to work with and motivate other development professionals and volunteers. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Willingness and ability to travel and to work nights and weekends, as required. Must be capable of working with sensitive information with complete confidentiality. Bachelor's degree.
