Job Title: Director of Accounting This senior level position is accountable for financial reporting, strategic analysis, risk management, and select administrative functions for the company. The successful candidate will provide leadership, strategic insights, and oversee financial planning and annual budgeting process. This leader will work closely with the CEO, other members of the senior executive team, as well as the Board of Directors and private equity investors.
The successful candidate will have the ability to function at a broad-based, high-energy environment and strategic level while being capable of driving detailed, tactical execution. More specifically, the Director of Accounting will be tasked with the following:
Lead and manage the accounting team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support. Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations and the C-Suite, to support organizational goals. Drive process improvement initiatives and streamline accounting processes. Review and interpret contracts, ensuring alignment with accounting and finance practices. Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, including reporting and closing of books. Play a key role in implementing a new ERP system, leveraging your experience to drive successful implementation. Qualifications and Experience : The ideal candidate will be a unique leader that can operate as a strategic leader and liaison to the private equity owners; while also embracing the small company environment with a willingness to roll his / her sleeves with a "can-do" approach to serving customers and preserving the company culture.
The Director of Accounting will require the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge finance and operations. Experience managing and developing a team, with a focus on hiring, training, and mentoring. Proficiency in QuickBooks, with experience in ERP implementation preferred. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. Curious mindset with a start-up mentality and a passion for driving growth. Location: This position is office-based in the Queen Anne area of North Seattle, Washington.
Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 base salary per year
