The ERP Software Services team serves the strategic goals of Utah Valley University by providing access to enterprise data, maintaining mission-critical software, and engineering user-centric software solutions to support University business processes.
As the Director of UVU's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software Services team, you will directly enable student success through your passion for leading the university's ERP technology strategy, roadmap, and overall effectiveness. Summary of Responsibilities Lead a team that provides application administration, integration, and middleware services. Supervise and mentor staff. Contribute to staff development by providing feedback in regular performance reviews. Develop and implement appropriate professional development and training opportunities. Ensure improvement of collaboration to increase functional expertise and decrease defects. Provide constructive feedback to team members and functional area partners. Manage budgetary functions and make purchasing decisions for the department. Plan and coordinate ERP and software service projects in collaboration with other Digital Transformation staff and campus stakeholders. Articulate, propose and oversee implementation of a technology roadmap for the university's ERP solution. Develop project specifications and determine key deliverables by meeting with project owners, sponsors, and users. Troubleshoot and repair problems in production systems using sound problem solving techniques and change management principles. Offer suggestions to improve processes and provide comments on design aspects. Develop software solutions by conferring with users, studying information needs and system flows, data usage, and business processes. Provide subject matter expertise and leadership for the implementation of ERP solutions including enterprise data and process integration services for on-premise, hosted, and software as a service (SaaS) solutions. Research and recommend data and service integration solutions, keeping current with relevant technologies and best practices. Review and consult on project proposals, service requests, and vendor service offerings. Manage risks by planning, organizing, leading, coordinating, scheduling, and controlling product owner activities within various ERP portfolios. Develop and maintain department policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned, including special projects. Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus three years of staff level experience; or an Associates degree and five years of experience related to the summary of duties; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling seven years. Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Master's degree in a related field and two years of experience related to the summary of duties; OR any combination of education and/or experience related to the summary of duties totaling eight years. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
Knowledge
Experience with ERP solutions, relational database concepts including SQL, data modeling, and leveraging of existing APIs. Familiarity with system engineering concepts. Experience managing a highly technical staff in a team-oriented collaborative environment. Experience in software project management (including Agile methodologies), requirements gathering, and managing end-to-end software life cycles. Experience creating and maintaining strategies for product ownership including user metrics, KPI identification and tracking, and conversion and goal setting. Experience in team building and leadership functions. Knowledge of organizational staff, budget development, and strategic planning. Highly self-motivated and directed. Skills Baseline skills in software engineering and creation of test plans. Skills in supervising and managing a technical team. Team building, leadership, and training skills. Skilled at migrating ERP solutions, or migrating from an on-prem to a SaaS hosted solution. Ability to think strategically to apply relevant and modern technology solutions to solve the needs of the university. Ability to think logically, resolve problems, identify sequential tasks, while leading and directing the work of others. Ability to handle multiple priorities and requests from all campus departments and Dx customers performing a variety of complex tasks.
