Job Summary: The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development (CAT+FD) at Xavier University of Louisiana seeks applications for a Director. CAT+FD is entering its 30th year on campus as a dynamic and innovative unit. CAT+FD supports our university mission by providing professional development opportunities for faculty throughout the university . As such, the university is seeking applicants who will contribute to our welcoming atmosphere, with excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for faculty development. This is a 12-month, full-time staff position with a start date of July 1, 2024. The salary is commensurate with experience. Standard Xavier staff benefits apply. The Director reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. AA/ EOE
Minimum Qualifications: ? Ph.D.
? At least 5 years' experience teaching in higher education;
? Experience working in a Center for faculty development;
? Experience developing and facilitating educational development programs and services for faculty at various career stages.
Preferred Qualifications: ? Evidence of effective teaching in higher education, and a demonstrated commitment to improving teaching on the basis of research;
? Evidence of the ability to set goals and achieve outcomes in a timely fashion with little oversight;
? Knowledge of multiple and varied instructional strategies and their application in the higher education classroom;
? Evidence of effective use of educational technologies;
? Evidence of the ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders, including faculty members, staff, administrators, and students;
? Evidence of excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills;
? Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
