JOB DESCRIPTION Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a DIRECT SUPPORT SPECIALIST in COWPENS, South Carolina . Our client is a well-established institution providing residential care . The DIRECT SUPPORT SPECIALIST is responsible for training and implementing objectives in the areas of self-help, academics, recreation/leisure, hygiene, and other life skills ultimately preparing residents to live more independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DIRECT SUPPORT SPECIALIST INCLUDE: Assist in making sure residents have proper hygiene. Meal prep Shopping Transporting Ensures that all residents are supported through opportunities to learn and develop new skills. Actively engages with residents in a positive and meaningful manner. Communicate all issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor/manager promptly. Attends training and meetings as required. Development, training, and support of the residents with an aim towards independence Proper and timely documentation of daily events, transportation, observations, incidents, resident growth, dietary, and medical/ behavioral information. REQUIRED Experience and Education: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a 9th-grade education or higher. Must be able to pass a background check. Must have a valid driver's license (3-year driving record required) Minimal lifting required. All lifting is lift assisted.
