Direct Support Professional

We are looking for positive, caring and compassionate people to support clients in the Richmond, Chesterfield, Midlothian, Montpelier, and Mechanicsville area, in a residential/Home setting. The Direct Support Professional will be supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Candidates must be flexible with start and end times of shifts. Serious Inquiries only.BenefitsExcellent PayFlexible SchedulingRemote Interview ProcessBi-Weekly PayDuties May Include:Providing assistance to the adults/children within their home in such areas as feeding, toileting and elimination, nutritional intake, physical care, and daily activities.Administer medication and document it properly on the Medication Administration Records.Monitor the person being supported to ensure safety in all aspects of their lives (medical, health, behavioral)Assist the individual with ambulation, transfers and/or range of motion exercises.Promote a safe environment for Individual.Utilizes infection control measures such as hand washing and personal protective equipment.Observes and reports safety hazards and changes in resident condition to Supervisor.Accompanying individual to outings/ doctors appointmentsDocuments observations and activities in an accurate, complete and timely manner.May have access to personal health information ("PHI") necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities. Access to use and ability to disclose PHI is further defined by each organization/department.Must Have:Direct Support Certified Training (DSP)Up to dated CPR/First Aid.CNA backgroundQualificationsHigh school degree or equivalent education/experience.Must pass all background checks.Excellent oral and communication skills.Computer Savvy (experience with using computers for documenting/data).Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds and be capable of kneeling on the floor to aid individualsJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeExperience:Training in patient total careMedication reminders
