Job Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for addressing our gap related to non-model tool governance and leading the validation of bank's AI/ML models, Stress Testing models and review of significant/complex non-model tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct end-to-end validations and reviews of AI/ML models, Stress Testing models and other Financial/Treasury risk models, assessing model risk from the aspects of data quality, model/scenarios design, model usage, model implementation, model performance, model control and ongoing performance monitoring.
Identify model deficiencies through validations, communicate the issue with model owners and senior management, and provide feasible and adequate recommendations.
Assist in develop formal governance framework for non-model tools, maintain documentation templates, testing package, and perform review of significant/complex non-model tools.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge in Stress Testing, AI/ML regulations and industry best practice.
The individual will be exposed to a wide variety of models and will interact with model owners and staff across Webster. The scope includes internally and externally developed consumer and commercial credit scoring models, Stress Testing Models, Treasury and Liquidity models, FP&A models and structural finance models.
Education/Skills/Experience:
Master's or equivalent degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
Expert knowledge of data analysis, with capability to cleanse, parse, restructure, and validate datasets
Experience in compliance analytics, BSA/AML model validations, or related domains in financial institutions or consultancies is preferred
Proficient in programming in SQL and Python. Knowledge of R and SAS preferred
Good understanding of the financial industry and business line
Strong reasoning ability, analytical skills, and communication
The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000USD to $160,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation. #LI-BY1
